Marlene and Lester came by the shelter on July 31st and decided to go home with Vinny, the newest addition to their family.

Lady, soon to be renamed, Lady Bug, was adopted by Michael, Carla and their son Ryan.

Leon gets adopted by Jonna and Holly.

Rosco found a forever home with Eric, Deniellei, and their daughter, Maddison. He also gains a fur-sister named Roxi.

The Southeast Volusia Humane Society will hold their annual meeting at 6pm, Thursday, September 9, 2010 in the Shelter’s meeting room.

Merk’s Bar and Grill, located on the North Causeway, in New Smyrna Beach, held its first annual Wags and Wheels Car/Dog Wash to benefit the Southeast Volusia Humane Society, in New Smyrna Beach, and Journey’s End Animal Sanctuary, located in Deland. The event, which took place on Saturday, July 17th, collected donations for both organizations and the response of the community was overwhelming. Money is desperately needed, especially in this economy.

Under bright blue skies and mild temperatures many people welcomed in the first day of spring on Saturday, March 20th 2010, at the Second Annual Spring Fling sponsored by the Halifax Veterinary Center in Port Orange, Fl. “Luv the Dog” greeted people as they arrived for the event. Games were enjoyed by our two legged, as well as our four legged friends.

Candi is a female Doxie mix who is four months old and weighs a whopping 8lbs! Candi is especially lucky because her new owner is nine year old Zane. She is also going to join a new bird friend named Halo.

The two sisters were known as Teeny and Teencie but will have new names in their new forever home. They will now be known as Abbie and Callie. The two little girls are sure to bring lots of joy and laughter to Glenn and Sherry’s home.

Melville was adopted today by his new friend, Steve. He will join another kitty, a Yorkshire Terrier, and a German Shepherd mix. What a wonderful family for Melville!

We didn’t even get this little girl photographed for the website before she was adopted today into a very loving home. Lindy-Mae will make a great companion for her new mommy, Mary Lou.

Mr. Bill stole my heart. He has joined our family and settled right in. He has learned the word “treat” very quickly and the other boys need to get out of his way as he makes his way to his pedestal.

Titan is the best dog I have ever had. I don’t think he realizes he is a big dog. He sits in our lap in the evening and, on a couple of occasions, took his position on the top of Jeff’s chair with Jeff in it.

Rex is a beautiful, gentle soul and very well-mannered. His new “Dad” is Bruce and Rex has already stolen his heart.

Party Pom was adopted before we even got to photograph him for the website. This little tri-colored Pomeranian is approximately 8-9 months old and is quite a sweetie!

Sweet little “Abby” finds a home. Abby has been adopted by Curtis and will soon be in her new forever home.

Sampson was officially adopted on December 28, 2009. What a wonderful dream come true for a sweet boy–spending the Holidays with a great family and becoming a part of their forever home!

Mojo was officially adopted on December 28, 2009. He is enjoying his new home with acres to run on and a loving family.

Hershey was adopted this morning from Southeast Volusia Humane Society.

Merrybells was adopted by Herm and Barbara. What a wonderful Christmas it will be for all three of them!

Jellyroll was adopted just before Christmas and is looking for great holidays in his new forever home.

Greta will have a wonderful Christmas and a new lifetime home! She was adopted today by Linda and Mark.

Beatle has been adopted. Coach Michael had visited her several times and today she got to go home with him to her new forever home.

The Shelter is excited to announce a new adoption. The dog that was adopted is Zena. Zena will be the only fur child in this family.

The Southeast Volusia Humane Society in New Smyrna Beach is hoping some people will be able to open their homes this holiday season to some four-legged friends in need of a foster family. The shelter looks festive, but it’s still sad with dozens of homeless cats and dogs in confined spaces. That’s why the staff came up with “Home for the Holidays,” an effort to get every animal in a foster home for four days from Dec. 22 to Dec. 26.

Kirby (black) was adopted by Ron and Sammie H. He joins two others in his new home– Buba and Sugar. This family is a real blessing for Kirby.

An adoption was made by Joe and Audra. They fell in love with Dillon and plan to keep that name. He joins two other Poms in his new home.

Mayquitha (Tita) and her sister Chloe adopted two black puppies that hadn’t been named by the Shelter. They will get to know the puppies and give them appropriate names.

Nova was adopted by Anoop who has decided that Hannah will be her new name and looks forward to giving Hannah a home where she can grow and thrive and overcome her fears.

On Saturday, December 05, 2009, after two days of steady rain, the sun came out and the Christmas Parade began. Southeast Volusia Humane Society decorated their van with garland, bulbs, lights, and wrapping paper. The van looked great! Thank goodness it stopped raining and the parade was a big success. Southeast Volusia Humane Society is truly loved by many in our sweet paradise community. We handed out candy, dog bones, and flyers. The slide show contains photographs of many of the wonderful people in our community. We hope you enjoy seeing the parade through these pictures.

Herman is my wrestling partner and my support system. He is just so darn adorable and we are thrilled to have him around. We didn’t pick him, he was definitely sent to us.

The Southeast Volusia Humane Society joined their mascot “LUV” at the Annual New Smyrna Beach Halloween Parade. Hundreds of children and adults enjoyed trick-or-treating and marched in the parade at Canal Street on October 31, 2009.

Happy has found a loving home with her new owner, Dorothy, and her kitty family. We wish them all the best for a wonderful life!

Ozzie, helped my family out. Our 5 year old daughter was feeling sad and alone because her dad is leaving for the army. Ozzie has been a blessing to her and our family. The “kids” play great together!

Rusty (formerly known as Milton) has found a new home with Jim and Darlene. The new Rusty will make a great companion for his new friends.

Stitch has found a new home today with Donna and her dog, Chimmy. You can already tell Chimmy and Stitch will be best buds for life!

The boys and I have been so happy with Emmie. She has the sweetest soul! In these few days, I feel that she has been a companion in our family forever!

The Southeast Volusia Humane Society pets were such a hit at this years Port Orange Family Days event.

Lucky Girl Mandy was adopted by a great family during Port Orange Days. She found a new home with Teresa, Tiffani, Wesley, and new brother Rusty.

Thanks to the Southeast Volusia Humane Society, we were able to find Wolfie, a black and silver Siberian Husky who has been a wonderful addition to our family.

Taffy spent over a year at the shelter, unfortunately because of the way she looked. No one would adopt her. Now understand, taffy was not adopted, she picked us. I sat down and she washed my face and she has had a happy home every since.

Southeast Volusia Humane Society Cats and Kittens are relaxing and enjoying their new room. Their new remodeled room looks really nice with tile and cages. Below you will enjoy seeing the new cat room while shelter employee, Debbie, trims and weighs some of the available cats and kittens.

Monkey loves his food, ice cubes, riding in the car especially and totally hogs my bed and I am in heaven. Yes, I miss Savannah like crazy but here is another LPFC to love and share life with. They are so good at stealing and melting your grieving heart.

Hi my name is Scruffy (formally known as Spot). My big sister Jenniferlee took one look at me at the Southeast Volusia Humane Society and knew I was going home with her. My mom says I’m heaven sent. I love my new family.
