The Southeast Volusia Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 organization serving Volusia County. We depend on volunteers and your donations to help us care for the animals. By donating, you help us give the animals in our care a safe, healthy, happy environment and to continue educational and fund raising programs throughout the year.

History of the SEVHS Logo

In 1990 our beautiful logo was born. Lonny Russell, a local graphic artist who specializes in logos, murals, and cartoons, designed our original logo. Lonny also painted the mural that is still displayed on the shelter wall today. This logo has been our identity for over 17 years and we cannot thank Lonny enough for the help and support he provided with his talents.

Cartoonist illustrator Lonny Russell has called New Smyrna Beach home for 35 years. He lives in NSB with his wife, Tabitha, and their two children. He does logos, ad designs and murals. He can be reached at (386) 423-3892 and e-mailed at lonnyrussell@nsbnews.net.

In 2007 our shelter underwent a well-needed transformation. With the help of several supporters, donors, and volunteers, SEVHS was able to build new kennels and other facilities for our pets. One transformation that underwent was our logo. Considering the history, we stuck with the same overall design that Lonny had provided for us.

Fantastic Design Group in Edgewater graciously donated their time and hard work by providing us with an updated version of our logo. Adding a bit more color and outlining with a heart, our new logo was formed. But, their efforts didn’t stop there. Fantastic Design Group also supplied us with our new road sign, a new sign for the shelter building, and a new plaque listing our building fund sponsors! Their “fantastic” donations could not be more appreciated.
