2009 New Smyrna Beach Christmas Parade

Posted on: Dec 6th, 2009 | Category: Event Galleries

On Saturday, December 05, 2009, after two days of steady rain, the sun came out and the Christmas Parade began. Southeast Volusia Humane Society decorated their van with garland, bulbs, lights, and wrapping paper. The lights even lit up thanks to Steve L.. Volunteers who helped with this event were the following: Debbie J., Debi and Steve L., Lori L., Gladys S., Gail M., Steve and Linda K., and June R. (a friend from Kansas City, Missouri).

The van looked great! We took three dogs — Sampson, Mo Jo, and a new dog that we named Christy. Sampson was so very gentle with all the kids and the crowd. Christy wowed the crowd with her cuteness, happiness, and sweet nature. Mo Jo seemed to be a bit frisky (must be the weather) so he was happy riding in the back of the van and watching all the people.

Thank goodness it stopped raining and the parade was a big success. Southeast Volusia Humane Society is truly loved by many in our sweet paradise community.

We handed out candy, dog bones, and flyers. The slide show contains photographs of many of the wonderful people in our community. Photography was done by Gladys S. We hope you enjoy seeing the parade through these pictures.
