To help kick off The 1st Annual Florida Week of the Animals, we're having a Mardi Gras Pet Parade on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at 2 PM on Canal Street. To enter, fill out the entry form on this website. The entry fee is $5 per animal and/or a donation of pet supplies (see our Wish List, under Ways To Help). Contestants will gather in the north west corner parking lot behind A Lotta Scents at 1:00pm. Sign in table and trailer for pet supplies/donations will be on site.

Dogs should be dressed in Mardi Gras attire (option for owners) and for a fun event please ensure that your dog friend is leash friendly, people friendly and other dog friendly. Complimentary poop supplies will be furnished. Judges will award prizes for many different categories. Entry forms may be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce, The Pennysaver, The Observer and AM 1230 WSBB Radio, all on Canal Street; Silly Willie’s 218 Flagler Avenue; The Visitor’s Center 2238 State Rt. 44; The Southeast Volusia Humane Society 1200 S. Afterward, join us for the second annual Mardi Gras Celebration on Canal Street which is part of Gallery Walk for February. Music, art, food, a beer and wine garden in the 200 block plus plenty of beads and fun for the whole family in downtown New Smyrna Beach!
